Our Patronal Cantons

The Patronal Canton of Zug

The Patronal Canton of Zug has been supporting the Swiss School in Singapore since 1967 in the following areas:

• Supply of teaching materials free of charge by the Canton of Zug.
• Partial financing of new building projects.
• Every four years an external evaluation takes place.
• Support in the hiring process of new teachers and new school management (advertisement, rooms in Zug, support during the interviews and potential lessons observations).
• Support for pedagogical concerns and questions.

The Swiss School in Singapore has a high reputation in the Canton of Zug. Annually, to strengthen the relationship between the Swiss School in Singapore and the Canton of Zug, a one-way students’ exchange takes place with one of the Canton’s municipality schools.

Mr. Johannes Furrer (johannes.furrer@zg.ch), Head of the Canton’s External School Evaluation, is responsible for all needs of the Swiss School in Singapore and official representative of the Canton of Zug.

The Patronal Canton of Valais

Since 2020, the Patronal Canton of Valais has been supporting the French Stream of the Swiss School in Singapore in various areas:

• Support for professional development
• Support in recruiting of teaching staff
• Support with every educational question
• Promotion of exchanges between pupils and teachers
• Provision of school supplies

The agreement was made between the Swiss School in Singapore and Mr. Darbellay, Head of the Ministry of Economy and Education of the Canton of Valais.
