Primary School
The French Stream at Swiss School in Singapore (SSiS) follows the Swiss French-speaking school convention adopted by the CIIP (Conférence Intercantonale de l’Instruction Publique de la Suisse romande et du Tessin) and is based on the Plan d’Études Romand (PER), the curriculum framework used across French-speaking cantons in Switzerland.
SSiS works closely with its partner canton, Valais, on curriculum, teaching resources and educational approaches. Our French-language Primary School programme uses differentiated, cooperative and student-centred learning to encourage curiosity, independence and active participation.
From Kindergarten to Primary 6 (P6/8H), students follow an individual learning pathway tailored to their needs, abilities and interests. Mixed-age learning in double classes from Primary 1 onwards allows students to learn collaboratively while gradually taking greater responsibility for their learning.
By the end of Primary 6, students are prepared to continue their education at a French-speaking school in Switzerland or an international school, with a strong foundation in French-language learning and Swiss education.
