Primary 3 & 4 (5H/6H)

Primary 3 & 4 At ages eight and nine, students join Primary 3 and Primary 4 in our French Stream. These correspond to 5H and 6H in the Swiss primary school system. French is the language of instruction, and our curriculum follows the Plan d’Études Romand (PER).

French Language and Literature

Students develop their ability to read and understand texts independently while strengthening their French vocabulary, grammar and conjugation skills. Our school library supports their language development through regular access to a wide selection of French books.

Mathematics

In Mathematics, students work with numbers up to 1,000 and develop their skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. They learn to apply mathematical concepts, explain their reasoning and develop effective problem-solving strategies.

English and Science

English and Science are an integral part of the weekly timetable. Students have three English lessons and two Science lessons taught in English by native English-speaking teachers. Lessons are taught in half groups and combine practical Science activities with continued English language development.

Holistic Learning and Class Trips

Our holistic Swiss Primary School education also includes music, arts and crafts, sports and swimming. Students further broaden their learning experiences through an annual class trip to Malaysia, developing independence, teamwork and intercultural awareness.

Assessment and Parent Communication

Students are assessed across all subjects throughout the school year. Families receive an interim report at the end of the first semester and an annual report at the end of the school year, complemented by one parent-teacher discussion each year.
