Grade 7- 10

Students in Grades 7–10 attend United World College of South East Asia (UWCSEA), where a Swiss teacher appointed jointly by SSiS and UWCSEA teaches German, French and Swiss Civics according to the Canton of Valais curriculum.

UWCSEA’s French language programme supports students joining from SSiS and enables them to maintain the language skills required to re-enter the Swiss or French school system at a later stage. The transition to Grade 7 begins in Primary 5 and 6, helping students and families prepare for the next stage of their education.

Throughout Grade 7 and 8, students have a broad and balanced range of subjects. In line with UWCSEA’s ethos and mission statement students aim to discover where their strengths lie.

In Grade 9, at age of 14, students are enrolled in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education GCSE/IGCSE, a mix of required and optional choice certificate courses culminating in external examinations at the end of Grade 10.
