Play-Based Early Childhood Education in Singapore
At Swiss School in Singapore, our Early Childhood programme provides a nurturing environment where children learn, explore and grow through play-based learning and hands-on experiences. Our curriculum is designed to support each child’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development while making learning engaging and enjoyable.
From creative activities and art projects to games, stories and sensory play, children learn through experiences that encourage curiosity, imagination and independence. Carefully selected, age-appropriate materials and thoughtfully prepared activities help children develop essential knowledge and skills while discovering the joy of learning.
Learning Through English and German
Our Early Childhood programme gives children an early and joyful introduction to German alongside English. Until the age of four, English is the primary language of instruction, while German is gradually introduced through engaging, age-appropriate activities and everyday interactions.
Through songs, stories, games, creative activities and play, children become familiar with the German language in a natural and enjoyable way. This playful approach helps build an early understanding of German, develops listening and communication skills, and encourages children to become confident and curious language learners from a young age.
By creating positive experiences with German from the beginning, we lay the foundation for multilingual learning and a lifelong appreciation of languages and cultures.

Pulau Ubin Outing
“For the first time in Swiss School, our playgroup children went on an incredible field trip to Pulau Ubin. These 3-4 year old students were amazed by the sights and sounds of nature on Pulau Ubin. As they explored the rustic island, they saw different plants and animals and even got a chance to visit the former headman’s house.
The bus and bum boat rides were also a highlight of the day. The children loved feeling the wind in their hair as they cruised along the water and took in the scenic views of the island. It was a new and exciting experience for many of them.
Overall, the Pulau Ubin adventure was a great success for Playgroup B. The children had a great time and this memorable experience will definitely leave a lasting impression on all of them.”
