Portfolio Work
At Swiss School in Singapore (SSiS), project-based learning gives Primary 1–6 students the opportunity to explore their interests, develop their talents and build important interdisciplinary skills.
During two lessons each week, students work independently on projects that allow them to apply their knowledge, research topics they are passionate about and take ownership of their learning. With guidance and expert support from their teachers, students plan their own approach, research and process information, reflect on their learning and present their results. This student-centred learning approach encourages independence, creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving and effective communication.
In Primary 5 and Primary 6, Informatics is integrated into Portfolio Work, supporting students in developing their digital and research skills. Each student is provided with a laptop to support their project work and digital learning.
