50 Year Anniversary

The Swiss School in Singapore is preparing for its 50th Birthday bash this year.

For 50 years SSiS has grown and become an important part of education and life of many families in the German-speaking community of Singapore. We will celebrate the golden anniversary with a range of events and activities throughout 50 days starting exactly 50 years after the SSiS opened its doors for the very first time, on 2nd of May 1967, with 8 kids in Kindergarten and 10 kids in Primary classes.

Opening Event (2 May 2017)

Exactly 50 years after the school opened its doors, on May 2nd, 2017, SSiS will be starting the anniversary celebrations with an Opening Event. The evening will start with a photo exhibition featuring 50 portraits of people who shaped the school during its’ 50 years of existence. The programme awaiting our guests is framed by music, theatre, speeches, good food and guests who played a role in building and shaping the school during the past five decades. We are immensely looking forward to celebrating this milestone with you! Event booking is closed.

Photo Exhibition

The portrait exhibition, ‘50 People in 50 Years’, is going live on the day of the Opening Event. We will be showing 50 people who shaped our school in various functions between 1967 until 2017, releasing one portrait each day during the celebratory period.

Family Event (20 May 2017)

Please join with us to celebrate the Swiss School in Singapore and Swiss community’s Golden Anniversary at the Family Event! The school will be transformed into a colorful play and meeting venue which will include workshops and fun activities for everyone. Of course, delicious food and drinks will be served too! Everyone, families, interested parties and friends mark your calendar for May 20th, at the Swiss School in Singapore, 4pm to 8pm. Looking forward to see you all there!

Alumni Event (10 June 2017)

For all those who are not able to travel to Singapore for the golden anniversary events, the SSiS Alumni Association will organise a special jubilee event in Switzerland. Event details on their website. Event is fully booked.

Summer Night Event (22 June 2017)

The celebratory activities will end with the traditional Summer Night Event at SSiS, which will revolve around the topic “Snapshots of the Past”. With the children’s performances SSiS’ history of the past 50 years will come alive once again.
