My name is Julia Waters, a Swiss citizen from Thalwil (ZH). Our family arrived in Singapore 7 years ago from Geneva where I studied, started my professional career and volunteered as a firefighter. As an expat child myself, I lived on 4 continents and was exposed to many different cultures. I like to think of myself as a curious combination of both Swiss German/ Swiss Romande mentality and a citizen of the World!
In 2018, I visited SSiS for the first time; it was “Love at first sight” with this boutique, family-oriented school in the green. I was excited for my children to be part in the launch of the French stream. Joining one after the other, my three boys are now all attending SSiS. I am proud that they are growing up in a school environment that allows and encourages them to take risks, make mistakes, learn and grow. Over the years, I have been involved in the school community as a class representative and with the Parentsforum. Now it is my honour to join the committee in its strategic mission.
After 15+ years in the corporate jungle I enjoy spending time in Singapore’s real lush and muddy jungle! Today, I am fortunate to live out my passions by working as a Wildlife Rescuer & Advocate and a Professional Coach.
I believe we ought to try, in our lives and though our actions, to build a world that is more compassionate and kind, towards humans and animals!
