Teaching Diploma for Primary School
Singapore, a new, interesting challenge… After more than 16 years of teaching in the same village in the canton of Solothurn, I am looking forward to the start the upcoming school year again at SSiS.
It is important in my teaching to accompany the children in their independent action and learning. I am very keen on creating a good and pleasant classroom. I like to work with wood, clay, paper, stone and other materials. I like to do this in longer projects.
One of my great interests has always been geography and history, which is why I studied these subjects in the undergraduate studies at the University of Bern. Now I can live and work in a place so rich in history as Singapore, so I find the more exciting. I also love nature. I am happy to discover these – especially their animal world – again and again.
I would also like to take this into my lessons. So I have always had aquariums and terrariums in the schoolroom and I can well imagine to keep this in Singapore as well. The original meeting of the Department of Teaching is very important to me – and the surroundings of Singapore certainly have something to offer!
